On Wednesday this week, we say farewell to our latest group of Teikyo students as they make the long journey home to Japan. They arrived in April and have been studying English at Teikyo in Durham for the last six months. Whilst in Durham, students have attended English classes during the week, practised English with their friends in colleges and have been involved in a variety of further cultural and language placements which have helped every one of them improve their English during their time here. Recently students have returned from five week language school placements in various cities across the country.

Further highlights from the last six months have included: trips to London, Barcelona, York, Newcastle and other UK cities; representing Teikyo in the Durham University College Festival of Sport; completing a 5km run in Durham City centre alongside thousands of others and teaching Japanese culture to children, students and adults at a variety of events. We wish the returning group a safe journey home and all the best for the resumption of their studies in Japan. Later this week we will be welcoming the next group who will be with us until February 2018.
